My life of fitness began in high school when I was training for athletics, especially baseball. I grew up on Westside Barbell methodology and I have been entrenched in fitness, human performance, and nutrition ever since. That is when I learned that there is a science to programming that maximizes performance and ensures longevity. I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology-Human Performance with a minor in Medical Nutrition from Stephen F. Austin State University. My fitness knowledge comes from academics, self-study, experience, and constant experimentation over the past 15 years. I played 4 years of college baseball, two of which were at the D1 level at Stephen F. Austin. Thereafter, I enlisted into the military and spent some time there. Through all of that, fitness has been at the center of everything for me when it comes to performance, health, and longevity. Anyone who has worked with me or knows me will tell you that. Additionally, I have been applying all of my knowledge and experience in programming for friends, teammates, and co-workers for the past decade.

As a Marine Corps brat, discipline, and physical fitness were instilled as core values from an early age. As I grew up, sports became a daily activity, and in high school, I was introduced to the importance of team training. Preparing for the military heightened this awareness, and my desire to understand human performance developed into a passion. While on active duty, I competed in and pursued CrossFit certification, began researching and experimenting with various methodologies, and saw the massive need for job-specific training programs. As an EMT, I also understand the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to ensure longevity and performance in all walks of life. My mission at HTL is to provide the best possible training for those who serve this nation or their community and desire to live and perform at the highest level.

My fitness journey started when I wrestled for 7 years though out middle school and high school. This is where I found my love for pushing physical and mental limitations. Out of high school I went through EMT, AEMT, and paramedic school. I worked as a first responder for 3 years and this is where I learned the absolute necessity for first responders to be both physically and mentally competent to be able to excel at their jobs. Becasue of this, I decided to obtain my bachelor's degree in Biology to further my knowledge of the body. During this time I also got my Level 1 CrossFit certification. With all of my knowedge and insight, I began to apply it by personal training, managing a CrossFit affiliate, and programming for several CrossFit affiliates.

I am an orthopedic, TMJ and pelvic physical therapist practicing in Calhoun, Louisiana. For me, physical therapy is about more than just providing a diagnosis and treatment. It's about creating an environment that allows healing to occur. It is also about assisting each patient in piecing together their healthcare team that will offer support for their health and well-being and enhance their quality of life. "I am a VERY intentional physical therapist. Being intentional increases my focus on what’s most important to me-my patients! I carry this quality into my interactions, office set-up, selected treatment interventions, and prescribed home exercises that are purposeful, and deliberate. Being intentional means I am clear and up front about what I want to achieve each visit to achieve a specific outcome or result in the future that is important to my patients. This could be a rehab goal they want to achieve or skill they want to get back. Then they move forward with intention every day through corrective home exercises towards achieving the result or outcome desired. With this mindset and my intricate expertise of the body, muscles, and movement patters, I am able to provide insight into HTL programming that distinguishes it from the rest.
